FOUR CALLS THURSDAY, ONE EARLY FRIDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.
The Brenham Fire Department was called out four times on Thursday and once early this (Friday) morning.
A few minutes before 9:15 a.m. Thursday, the department responded to a fire alarm at Brenham High School, 525 AH Ehrig Drive. It turned out they were just testing the alarm, so units returned to service.
Shortly after 2:15 p.m., BFD members received a report of a power line down on Shadow Lawn Street. They made location and found it was a TV cable line that was down, not a power line, so they retied the cable and returned to the station.
Just after 3:15 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a crash in the 900 block of North Park Street. They found a two-vehicle accident and proceeded to provide traffic control and removed debris from the roadway. Once the vehicles were removed, the department cleared the scene.
Another report of a crash came in around 5:45 p.m. in the 500 block of Highway 290 West. After discovering a two-vehicle accident, BFD personnel provided traffic control and checked for fluids leaking, but found none. Units were back in service after the vehicles were removed from the scene.
Around 4 a.m. today, the department responded to a fire alarm at Blue Bell Creameries, 1101 South Blue Bell Road. The alarm was going off, but units determined the system was just having difficulties.
