WOOTEN NAMED NJCAA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

After a game in which he led the Blinn Buccaneer Football Team to a thrilling comeback win over then #9 ranked Navarro, QB Rylan Wooten was named as the NJCAA Division I Offensive Player of the Week.

Blinn was trailing the game 30-7 at halftime, and 37-17 going into the fourth quarter, but rallied to win the game 44-43.

Wooten, who is from Brenham, completed 29 of 43 passes for 426 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. The majority of those came in the fourth quarter in which the Bucs outscored Navarro 27-6.

Blinn is on the road this week against Trinity Valley. That one is scheduled for a 3pm kickoff on Saturday. Their next home game is the following Saturday, October 12, at 3pm against Tyler.
