9TH ANNUAL TEXAS ARTS AND MUSIC FESTIVAL HAS A SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND
The 9th Annual Texas Arts and Music Festival enjoyed a successful weekend in downtown Brenham.
The event, which ran Friday thru Sunday, offered art exhibitions and displays, shopping at vendors, and live entertainment.
Festival Board Member Brooke Trahan told KWHI that they were very happy with how everything turned out.
This year’s festival included the painting of two new murals in downtown Brenham. One was painted on the side of the Laundry Event Hall by Floyd Mendoza of Pasadena. The other was painted on the side of Ballad of the Bird Dog by Toni Ardizzone of Austin.
The festival also featured a juried art show, a children’s business fair, and live musical entertainment.
While, they don’t have an official attendance total, Trahan said turnout for the different activities was really good.
According to Trahan, they raised just over $40,000 at the event.
Proceeds from the Texas Arts and Musical Festival are directed towards supporting educational resources for arts and music programs in Washington County and the state of Texas.
