NEARLY 1,500 VOTE ON OPENING DAY OF EARLY VOTING

Early voting in the 2024 presidential election opened on Monday at a torrid pace.

Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson says 1,481 people came to the ballot box on Monday.  That number of voters is higher than the first-day totals for the 2022 gubernatorial election at 1,048, the 2020 presidential election at 974, and the 2016 presidential election at 1,119.

Early voting at the Washington County Courthouse Annex continues this week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, followed by hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Next Monday through Friday, October 28th through November 1st, early voting will be available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.  Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th.
