ONE FLOWN AFTER CRASH NEAR BURTON
One person was flown to receive treatment after an accident Thursday afternoon near Burton.
The Brenham Fire Department reports that approaching 5 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 100 block of Highway 237 for a report of a transportation incident with entrapment.
Brenham units and the Burton Volunteer Fire Department arrived to find two vehicles inside a barn area, with one patient still inside their vehicle.
Firefighters helped EMS remove the patient from inside the truck, and the patient was flown to the hospital. No further information was available on how the crash occurred or the nature of the patient’s injuries.
The Brenham department returned to service, while the Burton department stayed on location until both vehicles were removed from the barn area.
The call was one of two for the Brenham Fire Department on Thursday. The other came at 4:45 p.m., when BFD members received a report of a vehicle fire in the 200 block of Highway 290 West. They found a single vehicle with the hood up and no smoke or fire. After checking the engine compartment, they found no signs of fire, so they cleared the scene.
