FAITH MISSION SMART-CARE HOSTS CHRISTMAS PARTY AT BRENHAM AIRPORT

The Faith Mission SMART-CARE kids program held their third annual Aviation Christmas Party yesterday (Sunday) out at the Brenham Airport.

SMART-CARE stands for Science, Math, Art, Reading, Technology – Cultural, Academic, Recreational, and Enrichment.

Partners for this year’s Christmas Party included Lily’s Toy Box, Westside Airmen’s Pilots Group, and the Washington County EMS.

They were also visited by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

According to Program Director Dalia Vela, their goal is to give their kids lifetime experiences and expand the possibilities of what they can be in the future.

She added that the children loved getting the opportunity to be in a plane and a helicopter.

Washington County EMS Director Kevin Deramus said that he was glad that the weather cooperated so that they could make the event happen.

    1. Are you serious?? Do you have proof that is being done. I thought that it was a wonderful idea to show the children. Remember not every is fortunate to get on an airplane so this might be the closest thing for them.

    2. Unfortunately, it does not cost $10K every time that helicopter starts.
I for one am grateful we have it to support folks in the area.

      1. The county’s helicopter budget is about the same as brenham isd food budget. So we could change every kid’s life in brenham with free meals for all or have a helicopter that most will never use.
