The Giddings ISD Board of Trustees have hired the next Head Football Coach and Athletic Director for the Buffaloes. Schulenburg Head Coach Luke Hobbs was chosen from a field of 89 candidates for the position.

He takes over the program from Michael Adams, who resigned at the end of last season. Adams had been the coach for three seasons.

Hobbs is no stranger having previously coached at Giddings in 2018, where he was an assistant on the team that went 11-2.

While at Schulenburg, Hobbs took a team that went 0-10 the season prior to his arrival, and in his two seasons, he turned them into an 8-4 team.  Hobbs also has coaching stops in Brenham and Columbus.

He is scheduled to start on February 3.
