EARLY VOTING THROUGH FOUR DAYS DRAWS OVER 1,300 PEOPLE
Early voting has made it past the halfway point for the May 3rd elections.
According to Washington County Elections Administrator Carol Jackson, Friday ended the week on a high note as 422 people made their way out to vote. Daily early voting totals have steadily increased over the week, growing from 352 people on Thursday, 290 on Wednesday and 273 on Tuesday.
Through Friday, there have been 1,337 early voters.
Making up the 422 voters on Friday were 418 in the Brenham ISD trustee election, 178 in the City of Brenham council and charter amendment elections, 102 in the emergency services district election for the Chappell Hill and Meyersville Volunteer Fire Departments, and four in the City of Burton council election.
For the City of Brenham, a majority of Friday’s votes came from Ward 1 residents, at 68. Ward 3 was second at 58 votes, followed by 31 from Ward 4 and 21 from Ward 2.
No early voting is being held over the weekend. The Washington County Courthouse Annex will re-open for early voting on Monday and Tuesday with hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
