WASHINGTON COUNTY LITTLE LEAGUE ALL-STARS ADVANCE IN SECTIONALS TOURNAMENTS

The Washington County Little League All-Stars kicked off their sectional tournaments yesterday in both 11U Baseball and Minor Softball with impressive performances.

In 11U Baseball, Washington County earned a 9-6 victory over Western Hills in the opening round, advancing to face Lufkin in Game 2 of the tournament.

Meanwhile, in Minor Softball, Washington County dominated with an 8-0 shutout win, led by a remarkable no-hitter from Kinsley Haferkamp, who recorded 18 strikeouts. The win gives Washington County a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series against Smithville. Game 2 is set for today at 6:00 p.m., with a chance to close out the series and avoid a decisive Game 3.
