CHAPPELL HILL INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE WINNERS ANNOUNCED

The Chappell Hill community celebrated Independence Day today (Friday) with its 48th Annual Independence Day Parade.

Around 40 entries traveled through downtown Chappell Hill, as well as the World Famous Marching Kazoo Band.

Prize money was awarded to the top parade participants:

  • First Place ($300 sponsored by Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative) – Malinowski/Krolczyk/Felchak/Jozwiak Families: Small Town Family Loving the USA with a patriotic dove release.
  • Second Place ($175 sponsored by Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative) – Gary T. Hellings: Restored 1948 Ford Truck that features a plane that appears to fly being able to turn, dive and bank like a real plane. 
  • Third Place ($100 sponsored by Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative) – Luke Brown: 1960 Ford 861 Diesel Power Master Tractor personally restored.
  • Best Kids’ Entry ($100 sponsored by Kona Ice) – The Texas Tots featuring “Tator Tot” and the Mickelson Grandkids.
  • Best Business Entry ($100 sponsored by Brenham National Bank) – Mike Hopkins Distributing: Celebrating Freedom with “Clyde” and a cold beer.
  • Best Classic Car Entry ($100 sponsored by Cruise Planners, Peter & Melinda Fay) – Bilski Water Well Service
