BRENHAM’S SCHLOTTMAN STARTS FOR THE GIANTS AGAINST THE BRONCOS

Austin Schlottmann (New York Giants)

Former Brenham Cub Austin Schlottmann got the start at Center for the New York Giants during yesterday's (Sunday's) game against the Denver Broncos.

Schlottmann, who is in his second season with New York, was the backup center to starter John Michael Schmitz Jr.

Schmitz left the previous week's game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a bloody nose, and has been placed under concussion protocol. He did not travel with the team to Denver.

Schlottmann came into the Philadelphia game to replace Schmitz for the final 32 snaps.

The 6'6", 300-pounder is in his seventh season out of TCU. He spent his first three seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos, and then went to the Minnesota Vikings for two seasons before signing with the Giants.
