WASHINGTON CO. PROPERTY TAX BILLS ON THE WAY AFTER DELAY

The Washington County Appraisal District says property tax bills are going out.

Chief Appraiser Dyann White said this (Monday) morning that 2025 tax bills have been delivered to the printers.  White says the process of printing and mailing can take up to seven days.

The mailing of tax bills was delayed from October in order to avoid having to print out additional bills, given the possibility of them changing depending on the results of the November 4th election.  The bills were affected by the passage of tax-related constitutional amendment propositions for homestead exemptions, as well as the Brenham ISD proposal to raise the maintenance and operations tax rate.

For anyone not wishing to wait for mailed tax statements, they can make payments through the appraisal district’s website, www.washingtoncad.org or coming to the office in person at 1301 Niebuhr Street in Brenham.

White says property taxes paid by escrow account will not have a printed bill delivered, but the total amount due can still be seen on the website.
