‘PROGRESSING REALLY WELL’; COUNCIL HEARS UPDATE ON BRENHAM FAMILY PARK

  

Work is coming along at the site of the new Brenham Family Park.

Public Works Director Dane Rau reported to city councilmembers on Thursday that city officials held their monthly progress meeting earlier in the day with the project engineer and contractor, Quiddity Engineering and MBC Management.  He said large strides have been made with the pond and parking area, and additional aspects of the park will get started soon.  

Rau also said the city has received several major contributions to put toward extra features at the park, including an inclusive playground area, a pavilion, a fishing pier and potentially a boardwalk at the pond.

The park is located south of the Brenham Crossing shopping center on South Chappell Hill Street, sitting on 100 acres donated to the city by Ed and Evelyn Kruse. 

The city broke ground on the first phase of the 32-acre park project in May, with Rau saying at the time that the goal was to have it ready by November or December.
