Citizens State Bank has donated $10,000 to the museum to sponsor the sports exhibit’s “Coaches” section, a gallery honoring the longest-tenured coaches from schools across Washington County.  The section will highlight coaching achievements and feature personal reflections from former players, offering insight into the lasting impact coaches have had on their teams and the broader community.

Brenham Heritage Museum Interim Executive Director Ciera Harris said the contribution “has a significant impact on our ability to bring this exhibit to life.”  She said it “ensures these coaches and their legacies are recognized and remembered.”

The museum said the sports exhibit is part of its ongoing effort to expand its offerings and create engaging, educational experiences for visitors of all ages while preserving local sports history.

Earlier this week, the museum announced a $25,000 donation from Blue Bell Creameries to sponsor the “Going Pro” section of the exhibit, which will highlight local athletes who advanced to the professional level.

Fundraising efforts for the exhibit remain ongoing, with opportunities available for individuals, businesses and organizations.
