2026 WASHINGTON COUNTY JUNETEENTH ROYALTY ANNOUNCED

  

The Washington County Juneteenth Association has announced the Royalty candidates for the 2026 celebration.

For the Toddler Division, the candidates are Aaliyah Ellis, Dallas Lewis, Lily Jackson-Smith, and Carson Dorsey.

The Elementary Division candidates are Zari Burns, Zoe Machette, and Carson Smith.

The Intermediate Division candidates are Avia McGuire, Knowva Frederick, and Zues Jenkins.

Landon Frear is the lone candidate in the Junior Division.

The Senior nominees are Amirah Byrd, KaeDyn Lewis, and Jason Smith Jr.

The Adult nominees are Jessica Duvall and Stephanie Jones.

The Juneteenth Celebration begins with the Jubilee Kickoff on Friday, June 19, from 6-10pm at Fireman’s Park.

There will then be a parade through Downtown Brenham on Saturday, June 20, followed by the Celebration back at Fireman’s Park afterwards.

Registration is ongoing for parade entries. The Association’s goal is to reach 100 this year.

Registration forms are available from any Royalty candidate or from any Washington County Juneteenth Association member.

In addition to that, they are looking for items to put on display as part of a Juneteenth exhibit the Brenham Heritage Museum.
