TWO TRANSPORTED AFTER PLANE CRASH AT BRENHAM MUNICIPAL AIRPORT

  

Emergency crews are at the scene of a plane crash this (Saturday) morning at the Brenham Municipal Airport.

The City of Brenham says the single-plane crash was reported at approximately 7:30 a.m.

Details surrounding the incident are limited, but city officials report that the plane suffered damage and that the two occupants were transported by Washington County EMS for treatment of minor injuries.

City of Brenham airport staff members are on scene along with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Brenham Fire Department, HAZMAT, and the Meyersville, Chappell Hill and Salem Volunteer Fire Departments.

DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz said DPS is holding the scene for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to perform investigation.

Brenham AeroTech, who is leasing the old terminal building at the airport and offers a flight training school, confirmed that the FAA has been notified and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.  It said it is grateful that everyone is safe and that it appreciates the quick response of those who assisted at the airport.
