FUNDRAISER BEING ORGANIZED FOR FORMER BURTON HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETE

A fundraiser is being organized to help a former Burton High School standout athlete who has been hospitalized with serious injuries.

Jackson Kalkhake was injured in an ATV accident this past Sunday, and had to be life-flighted to Dell Seton Hospital in Austin.

Jackson is the son of Heath and Mandy Kalkhake, and the older brother of Kaiden Kalkhake. He was multi-sport athlete for the Burton Panthers, most notably with football and baseball.

Brandon Lawrence, a friend of Jackson’s, is organizing a fundraiser to help the Kalkhake family during this difficult time.

The event entitled, “Jacks for Jackson,” is going to be home run derby fundraiser on Sunday, October 25.  It is going to be held at Linda Anderson Park in Brenham beginning at 4pm.

Single, double, triple, home run, and grand slam sponsorships are available with packages ranging from $100 to $2,500.

They are also seeking food sponsors to donate hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausage wraps.

In addition to that, Lawrence said that they are looking for sponsors for their auction, as well as items that can be donated to the auction.

All proceeds from the event will be going to help the Kalkhake family with Jackson’s medical expenses.

For anyone that would like to help out with the “Jacks for Jackson” Home Run Derby fundraiser, you can call Lawrence at 832-438-4220.
