Chappell Hill played host to big crowds this weekend for the Scarecrow Music Festival.

The rebranded festival, led by local land management company BirdDog after being organized for decades by the Chappell Hill Historical Society, filled downtown Chappell Hill on Saturday and Sunday with numerous vendors and a packed music lineup with Roger Creager, Bri Bagwell and several other acts.

Scarecrow Music Festival Operations Director Josh Davis says this was a great showing and looks forward to taking the feedback received from this year’s event and making future festivals even better.

Davis thanks all of the musicians, vendors and volunteers for their flexibility and for helping make the event one to remember.

The festival also featured the Chappell Hill Scarecrow contest, whose winners were announced on Sunday.  First place was Curtis Ford, with Dixie Ford in second and Denise Kmiec in third.

Attendance and fundraising numbers are still being calculated.  Proceeds from the festival will support the Chappell Hill Historical Society, Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce and Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
