PUTT2CURE EVENT DRAWS CROWD

The annual Putt2Cure MS event was held last (Tuesday) night by Michael Brinkmeyer, drawing a healthy crowd out to enjoy the camaraderie and fundraise for a cure.

KWHI spoke to Brinkmeyer this morning, and with donations and team fees still being collected, there is not a final tally for the event quite yet. He did, however, mention that he doesn't think it will be as strong as last year's number, since the team showing was not as high as the previous year's.

There were caddies abound for hire, and the mischief included having folks wear underwear on their head (clean, we’re told!) for the remainder of the event.

Some had to use a hockey stick as a putter... and our own Trailboss Troy from KTEX having to take his first putt on a hole wearing taped up goggles.

Craig Montana did his best to thwart KTEX, including forcing Trailboss and his morning partner Holly Ryder both to use a garden hoe as their putter on hole 3. Trailboss got Craig back though, and paid to have Craig use the same thing! Holly did well with it, Craig not so much.

What's Troy up to now?

Craig got a hole in one, but his moment was overshadowed when not even two minutes later, Trailboss got one on the same hole! Then, the gal on the hole behind the crew got one too! Sorry, Craig.

A few folks around Horseshoe Junction’s Putt Putt course had their fun with the crew, including having newest member Sarah Foster play hole 8 on her knees, and giving Craig a super light baby’s ball.

When the crew reached hole 13, the caddies were recalled, so Craig ordered one last freebie… to not play his nemesis. Hole 15. The caddie, who was the youngest one there (Brinkmeyer’s grandson), said he’d offer the hole in one to Craig for $20. Craig said he had $10. The young caddie accepted the $10, but made the error of saying “I’ll do anything you want.”

Insert the evil mind of an about a 10 year old… and Craig having to play hole 13 with his elbow.

The event was a great success, and there were winners abound. The KWHI/KTEX trophy stayed with KWHI,

and there were 3 winners with the event as well.

The winning team went to “Meet the Putters”
