JURDEN; MARSHALL NAMED ALL-GREATER HOUSTON BY CHRONICLE
A Brenham Cubette softball player and a Cub baseball player have each been named to the First Team Houston Chronicle All-Greater Houston.
Cubettes’ senior outfielder Kelly Jurden has been named to the First-Team. This past season, Jurden hit .425, with 37 runs scored, 10 runs batted in, and a .444 on-base percentage.
Jurden helped lead the Cubettes to a 24-12 record and a berth in the Region III/5A Semi-Finals.
Cubs’ senior first baseman Zach Marshall was named First-Team Greater Houston Baseball. Marshall hit .404 this season with 12 doubles, three homers, 20 runs scored and 36 runs batted in. Marshall also has a .496 on-base percentage.
Marshall helped the Cubs to a 26-10 record and a trip to the Region III/5A Finals against State Champion Port Neches-Groves.
Also receiving First Team Softball honors were: Caitlyn Rogers, C, Magnolia West; and Pitcher of the Year, Casey Dixon of Willis. Second team honors went to: Makenzie Parker, SS, Willis; and Arianna Adams, P, Magnolia West.
Among those named First Team in baseball was: Eric Oakes, IF, Tomball.
