BRENHAM SCHOOL TRUSTEES HEAR PRESENTATIONS FROM TWO PROFESSIONAL GROUPS

The Brenham School Board heard presentations from two firms about pre-bond planning services at their noon meeting Monday.  The School District is looking towards a bond election for the Junior High campus, but may include other projects in the district.  The first presentation was from the LAN group, who have worked with the school district on every major project for the past 19 years.  The other presentation was from the professional group AGCM.  The last bond issue from the school district was for Alton Elementary School combined with the renovation of the Middle School 7 years ago.  Each group laid out how they would move through the process, evaluating each campus needs, educating the public on why a bond is needed, and working with the school district once the bond is passed.  After an Executive session to discuss the pre-bond planning services, the board voted to select the LAN Program Management Firm, and designated Superintendent Dr. Tylor Chaplin to negotiate a price for the services and present it to a future board meeting for approval.

In the only other item on the agenda, the board approved the Notice of Election for the May 1st Trustee Election.
