The Burton School Board will hold a special meeting Wednesday to discuss facilities within the school district.

Members of the Burton School Board hold a meeting on January 11th. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom.

Trustees will go over the district’s master facility site plan.  The board has placed a larger focus on facility needs and upgrades at its last two meetings, with Superintendent Dr. Edna Kennedy saying in December that the district is “way behind on facilities.”

At the board’s meeting Monday, trustees agreed to take $260,000 from the district’s operational fund balance to address projects.  Technology upgrades, the elementary school playground, the baseball and softball field lights, a full school marquee, vestibules, an extension of the elementary school awning, sealing rock on the rock building and installing a roof overhang, and bus repairs are among the planned uses for the funding.
