  1. Just a thought………

I was raised to wash my hands before I eat, wash them after I use the bathroom and when I came in from outdoors.

I was raised to cover my mouth when I cough or sneeze.

I was raised to not get into another person’s “personal space” as it’s disrespectful.

As an adult, I know if I’m running a fever from whatever it may be, I’m most likely contagious and need to respect others and stay home and away from people.

So with what I already know and have always practiced, what am I missing here that is different with the “Rona”? This should already be practiced with the “YEARLY” Flu Virus or just the Common Cold, Pink Eye, Respiratory Infections, etc?

Lastly, even after a 3 day battle with some nasty mexican food…I have never felt the desire or need to buy 200 rolls of toilet paper.

If you know of anyone who may not recognize any of what I mentioned above, please use this quarantine time to research common courtesy “public practices” and be ready to put them to good use.

NOW, LET’S GET BACK TO THE BASICS AND GET THESE WHEELS BACK IN MOTION, OPEN BUSINESSES AND START LIVING AGAIN!

  2. Going out Friday and looking forward to it. I encourage everyone to do it.. Our economy needs full participation, full consumption like we’ve never seen for at least a year to get us out of depression. Our huge service industry is hurting really badly due to the fear mongering and draconian policy making, not the virus. The virus only hurts very small percentage, but poverty kills everyone for years and decades.

I’d go out even if we had thousands of cases. Just like we have thousands of cases of flu.

    1. It is not mandatory by law! It’s optional and will remain optional because the judge in Houston tried then the governor did not agree so she backed down and looked like a fool! It’s your choice along with freedom of speech in this great country!

Stay home if your so worried about what others are doing! The main goal is to go out for what you need so do that and get home!

  3. My concern, of course is first for the elderly fighting through all this, and the ones that have lost loved ones. WHY have we NOT heard any comments from our local leaders regarding anything going on right now? Where is the mayor, the county judge, the ones so called leaders of the community. I don’t need people telling me what to do, because I watch what the professionals say and recommend and do as they ask, but it would sure be nice to know what is actually going on in the city and county without speculating. My apologies, they probably wouldn’t be truthful as they haven’t been yet. It’s sad that you can’t find out anything going on unless it’s hearsay. Even the President addresses the nation almost everyday, wether it’s right or wrong, but at least it’s something. Not like here where we have heard nothing from our leaders.

  4. Not enough information being release to the public in a timely manner. City and county government officials have done nothing but try to down play how bad the virus is and the people that have die. A lot of questions have been left unanswered from the nursing home management and the local and state leadership.

  5. Getting to comfortable with social activities is going to bring problems. A person’s integrity with PPE and distancing is the solution for now. We will see!!!!

  6. Wow! Once the Governor’s more relaxed restrictions go into place later this week I’m sure that number will double. That’s if those running around Brenham unnecessarily on daily basis even get tested. They need to get over their invincibility complexes. Brenham is not at the 8922 population it was in the 70’s but many act like it still is. You let too many outsiders in and have yourselves to blame that Covid is getting out of control. Also, there are too many legislative interests including locally in the oil industry losing money so in return Abbott is willing to lose lives so oil demand can go up.

  7. Eighteen percent growth per day. This has been a steady growth. Obviously, no flattening of a curve in Washington County. This is not the time to ease up on our local stay at home order.

  8. Is this jump in the number of cases because of testing that’s been done (supposedly) at BNRC?

    1. Yes, the more people tested…..the more people will be positive. Simple math. People need to quit with the all the drama. Everyone screaming to wear masks…..you mean like all the people that wear them WRONG? Cover the mouth not the nose, cover the nose not the mouth, wear it down on the chin not covering both or my personal favorite….wear it correctly, BUT touch and lift it off to speak!! Yeah that’s great!! False security folks!! Here’s some facts for you….

Fact 1: The overwhelming majority of people do not have any significant risk of dying from COVID-19.

The recent Stanford University antibody study now estimates that the fatality rate if infected is likely 0.1 to 0.2 percent, a risk far lower than previous World Health Organization estimates that were 20 to 30 times higher and that motivated isolation policies.

In New York City, an epicenter of the pandemic with more than one-third of all U.S. deaths, the rate of death for people 18 to 45 years old is 0.01 percent, or 11 per 100,000 in the population. On the other hand, people aged 75 and over have a death rate 80 times that. For people under 18 years old, the rate of death is zero per 100,000.

Of all fatal cases in New York state, two-thirds were in patients over 70 years of age; more than 95 percent were over 50 years of age; and about 90 percent of all fatal cases had an underlying illness. Of 6,570 confirmed COVID-19 deaths fully investigated for underlying conditions to date, 6,520, or 99.2 percent, had an underlying illness. If you do not already have an underlying chronic condition, your chances of dying are small, regardless of age. And young adults and children in normal health have almost no risk of any serious illness from COVID-19.

      C’mon people!!!! Enough already!!!
