Hope Rising’s Board of Directors has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.

Amy Leggio will join Hope Rising effective on Monday.  She is a Certified Fundraising Executive with experience in management and board governance.

Leggio’s focus will be on increasing Hope Rising’s service footprint in Texas for the foster care of minors who survive sex trafficking, and on opening the New Caney Stabilization and Assessment Center, a therapeutic entity that will also serve the minor survivors of sex trafficking.

Leggio comes to Hope Rising after a long career at the University of Houston, where she held leadership roles related to fundraising, advancement services and donor communication.  She also held a leadership position and received a Mission Award for Service at the St. Luke’s Foundation, which supports the philanthropic goals of the Texas Division of CHI St. Luke’s.

Leggio is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in English.  A native of Los Angeles who has lived in Houston for over 20 years, she volunteers at the San Jose Clinic in Houston and at the Charity Guild of Catholic Women.  She has three adult daughters and two granddaughters born early last year.
