Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Friday June 26, 2015 the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Canine Unit stopped a Ford F-150 truck on interstate 10 at the 659 mile-marker at approximately 10:12 am for a traffic violation. After contact with the driver and passenger was made, several criminal indicators were observed and consent to search the vehicle was obtained. Thumann observed two new fire extinguishers, one in the tool box and one hidden underneath the tool box. Both fire extinguishers showed several indicators of inconsistences with a normal extinguisher. Thumann removed the top from the extinguishers and observed aluminum foil packaging material. Approximately 20 pounds of meth was located in the extinguishers. Juan Angel Dimas(40) of Mercedes and Francisco Lopez Jr(32) of Edinburg were both arrested for being in Possession of a Controlled Substance. Judge Parker set both there bonds at $200,000.
