BASTROP SMALL BUSINESS DISASTER PREPAREDNESS WORKSHOP

  

A Disaster Preparedness Workshop will be held for Bastrop small businesses.

The half day workshop is set to place on Thursday, September 28th from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Bastrop Convention Center located at 1408 Chestnut Street.

The workshop is designed to equip small business owners with everything their business needs in case of such a disaster. Businesses will leave the workshop with a draft emergency plan. Participants will also hear a panel discussion featuring lessons learned from small business owners who have experienced a disaster. The workshop will feature a keynote address presented by former County Judge Ronnie McDonald who is well versed in disaster preparedness. The event is open to attendees from all across the region.

The event is hosted by the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, Bastrop Economic Development Corporation, Texas State Small Business Development Center, the Smithville Chamber of Commerce and the Elgin Chamber of Commerce.

Bastrop Chamber of Commerce President, Becki Womble, says that it is important that small businesses are prepared for a disaster as they can happen anywhere, anytime.

Pre-registration for the Disaster Preparedness Workshop is $35 if attendees register prior to September 23rd.
