FAYETTE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT

  

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of July 2015. Deputy Rick Bohlmann responded to the Holman area for mailboxes which were damaged. Bohlmann also took a report of fence damage in the Mullin’s Prairie area. Deputy Ben Wilson took a report of a missing male adult from a party during the Fourth of July Weekend. The male was later located by sheriff’s deputies. Wilson also responded to a disturbance in the Ledbetter area where a female was assaulted by a male. The male was arrested for assault family violence.

Deputy Marc Bennett took a report of a fence damage case at an address off of State Highway 159. Bennett also responded to a Burglary of a Building off of Round Top Road where a Hasqvarna lawn mower was taken. Bennett also took a report of an identity theft from a person in the Schulenburg area where an unknown subject used personal information to acquire a loan online. Investigator Angela Lala also worked an identity theft where a person’s information was used to collect unemployment.

Investigator Robert Dryden located a local subject in the La Grange area that possessed outstanding warrants for motion to revoke probation on a burglary and possession of marijuana. The male subject was arrested. Dryden also took a report of a stolen vehicle from property off of West State Highway 71. Information was obtained that the vehicle was possibly in the Austin area. The Sheriff’s Combined Auto Task Force was notified and the vehicle was recovered. Sergeant Charles Jobb responded to Waldeck Road in reference to a baler fire. The fire was started by a faulty bearing. Jobb also responded to Whispering Hill’s for a juvenile who fled from the premises. The juvenile was located the following morning and returned to the facility.

Deputy Stephen Nelson took a burglary report which occurred at a residence off of FM 1291. A possible suspect has been identified. Nelson also responded to a residence off of Concho Road in the Clear Lake Pines area. A mother and daughter at the location were involved in a physical altercation. The daughter was arrested for assault family violence. Deputy David Smith attempted to stop a truck on IH 10 and in doing so a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle left the roadway and stopped in a pasture near Flatonia. All occupants fled the vehicle. The truck was stolen from the Houston area. Smith also responded to Rocky Acres Lane in reference to a dog running at large. The owner of the dog was located and spoken to about the liabilities of his dog running at large. Also the dog owner received a citation for possessing an unvaccinated dog.

Deputy Garrett Durrenberger responded to FM 3233 in reference to several aggressive dogs roaming the area. The dogs were caught by deputies and transported to the animal shelter. Durrenberger also impounded an abandoned vehicle from Petter Rainosek Loop which was a traffic hazard. Deputy Daitwan Walker responded to Stephen Lane in the Clear Lake Pines area for a disturbance. There, two parties were issued citations and separated for the remainder of the evening. Deputy Darrell Maze assisted Child Protective Services with the removal of two small children from a residence at Green Acres Apartments. Maze also responded to a disturbance between a male and female near the La Grange area. The female was found to have assaulted the male and she was arrested for assault family violence.

Deputy Joe Martin stopped a vehicle for speeding and located a knife with metal “knuckles” in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for possession of an illegal weapon. Deputy Jeremy Castleberry responded to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Lobby for a subject possibly being suicidal. An assessment was conducted and the subject was released with no further treatment being needed for that day. Deputy Zimmerman met with a complainant in reference to a fraud. A report was taken and the case is under investigation.

Deputy Ken Kretz responded to the Muldoon area in reference to shots being fired. Investigation revealed that on subject discharged a firearm in the direction of another person while he was in a vehicle. The suspect in this case was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Kretz also assisted with a motor vehicle accident which occurred on State Highway 71. In doing so Kretz located marijuana and an open container of alcohol in the suspect’s vehicle.

Jail administrator Edward Sawyer reports that there were 89 individuals booked into the Fayette County Jail for the month of July. The staff transported 7 individuals to Texas Department of Criminal Justice Facilities throughout the state after these individuals were convicted of crimes committed in Fayette County. 

Fayette County Deputies traveled 48,417 miles, made 13 felony and 18 misdemeanor arrests. A total of 503 calls were received by the Sheriff’s Office. A total of $21,460.94 was collect by Justice of the Peace Courts as a result of deputies’ activities.
