Senior wide receiver James Homan has been named among the nominees for the Chronicle’s High School Boys Athlete of the Week.
Homan had 11 catches for 174 yards and a touchdown in the Cubs’ 37-34 win over Texas City, Friday night at The Berry Center.
Homan helped engineer a thrilling Cubs’ comeback from a 21-10 deficit early in the third quarter.
Homan caught eight of his 11 receptions during a 20-0 run by the Cubs.
For the season, Homan is the Cubs’ leading receiver with 37 catches for 714 yards and seven touchdowns.
Homan missed the entire 2012 season, after suffering a broken arm during the team’s first scrimmage.
