MURDER SUSPECT NABBED WHILE ALLEGEDLY SHOPLIFTING

  

A man arrested for shoplifting at a Huntsville mall, turned out to be wanted for murder in Houston.

Twenty-two year old Anthony Johnson was stopped by security and a concerned citizen outside the mall when they believed he had taken clothing from a store.  Huntsville police say however, they soon learned that Johnson was had a capital murder warrant out for him from the Houston Police Department.

Crime Stoppers in Houston says 35-year old Jawon Carson was shot in his home and his body was found in the December under a bridge.  An investigation connected Johnson to the crime.

Johnson also is accused of having stolen property in his vehicle from the Houston area.  He is also charged with theft, possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, failure to identify.

Huntsville police are working with the Houston police department to see if Jonson additional stolen property.
