ONE KILLED IN MILAM CO. ACCIDENT

  

One person is dead and four others are injured following a four-vehicle accident Friday night in Milam County.

Three children are among the injured in the crash on US 79 in Milano.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred just after 6:00 p.m., when a vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle head on. Two other vehicles were struck.

The driver of one of the vehicles, Beverly Gunnels, was pronounced at the scene. Three children in the same vehicle as Gunnels were transported to Scott and White Hospital in Temple with severe, non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Hospital in Bryan for severe, non-life threatening injuries. The drivers of the other two vehicles were uninjured.

The cause for the accident remains under investigation.
