FAYETTE COUNTY NARCOTICS K-9 SEIZES $30,000

  

Two Indiana residents have been arrested in Fayette County on Tuesday.

25 year old Domingo Dominguez Alvarez and 41 year old Flora Rodriguez Leyva, both of Indianapolis Indiana were arrested after a traffic stop on I-10 around 1:00pm yesterday (Tuesday).

Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner “Lobos”, stop their car on I-10 at the 658 mile marker for a traffic violation. After speaking with the individuals of the vehicle, Thumann observed many indicators that a crime was being committed.

After given consent to search the car, vacuum sealed clear bag containing approximately 30,000 dollars in U.S. currency was found. The money had been hidden in the bottom of a suitcase.

Both Alvarez and Leyva denied knowledge of the money. Both were arrested and charged with money laundering and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
