CHAPPELL HILL SCARECROW FESTIVAL HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND
The small community of Chappell Hill will once again produce one of the state’s largest arts & crafts festivals as they prepare to host the 39th Annual Scarecrow Festival this weekend.
Bob Davis, the President of the Chappell Hill Historical Society says the event brings nearly 30,000 visitors to the Chappell Hill area. The Scarecrow Festival has become a family tradition for many and that includes vendors as well as attendees. Joel Romo, from Texana Public Affairs, says there’s a lot of exciting things happening with the festival this weekend:
The musical line-up this year includes Abigail Taylor, Providence Iron Works, Julia Hatfield and upcoming artist Gary Durrenberger.
The festival opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday and continues until 6 p.m. It reopens on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Parking is available off Hwy 290 & 1155 or off of FM 2447 at $5.00 per car, but entry to the festival is free.
