WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS APPROVE EMS EXTENSION AGREEMENT

The Washington County Commissioners approved an agreement that allows Washington County EMS to continue to be a provider in the Texas Ambulance Supplemental Payment Program during their meeting today (Monday). WASHINGTONcountycommissioners

The Texas Ambulance Supplemental Payment Program (TASPP) offers EMS providers in the state the potential opportunity to receive additional funds above the standard Medicaid rate to supplement transport costs for Medicaid and uninsured patients. Supplemental payment programs have long been available to qualifying healthcare providers to help fill the gap, or loss, between the cost of providing services to Medicaid patients and the payment received. Today, many states, including Texas, allow government EMS providers to participate in similar programs.

The County Commissioners approved an agreement between Washington County and Revenue Optimization Solutions, for professional services necessary to maintain Washington County EMS as an approved provider for TASPP.

The Court met on Monday because a number of Commissioners will be attending conferences on their regular meeting day this Tuesday.
