LAST WEEKEND TO VOTE IN BRENHAM’S SACRECROW EXTRAVAGANZA

  

This is the last weekend to cast your vote for the best downtown Brenham scarecrows in the 14th Annual Scarecrow Extravaganza.

The 31 scarecrows entered in Main Street Brenham’s Scarecrow Extravaganza are placed throughout downtown Brenham in front of downtown stores.  Voting ballots are available at sponsoring businesses including Must Be Heaven, Hermann Furniture, Yumm Sweets and Eats, The Pomegranate, The Canyon Chick, Dona Lynn’s Unique Gifts and at KTEX 106 / KWHI 1280.

The most popular scarecrow will win the grand prize of $250 from KTEX/KWHI, and six other scarecrows will win $150 each.  Main Street Brenham is also giving a prize to the best Downtown Business Scarecrow. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 31st.

Some of this year’s scarecrow entries include “Buddy the Elf”, created by The Brenham Children’s Chorus;  “Cub Band Gone Strange” by the Brenham High School Band;  “Texas Strong” from the 2nd Graders at Krause Elementary;  “Utility Joe” created by the City of Brenham Utility Department;  and “Cousin It & Thing” by Abby and Avery Lamson for Sweet Repeats.
