BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS BUS SAFETY MONDAY

  

The Burton School Board will address bus safety at its upcoming meeting Monday evening.

At last month’s meeting, Superintendent Dr. Edna Kennedy brought up the need to discuss potential safety additions for buses.  These included the consideration of cameras, a communication system for drivers, and other procedures and guidelines.

Dr. Kennedy has said that all 2018 or newer bus models will include three-point harness seatbelts, first aid and bodily fluid clean-up kits, reflectors and flares.

In other items, the board will continue executive session discussion on personnel and district safety and security.

The board will also consider bids for the sale of portable buildings that were moved from the Burton Elementary School.  Dr. Kennedy said that, to this point, the board has not received any bids for those buildings.

The board will also hear reports from the principal, athletic director, and superintendent.  In addition, it will look over financial reports and deal with any new hires or resignations.

The Burton School Board will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m., at the Administration Office on 701 North Railroad Street.
