BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER SUMMER RENOVATION AT HIGH SCHOOL

The Brenham school board will meet Monday afternoon to discuss a pair of summer construction projects.

The board will consider approval of a bid process for HVAC and exit stair renovation at the high school.

Assistant Superintendent Paul Aschenbeck said there are around 18 rooftop units that need to be replaced, as many of them are more than 20 years old.  He said the school would begin work in the summer, and intends to have them ready by the start of the fall semester.

Aschenbeck said, in addition, the school would look to work on the exterior stairwells used for the fire escape.

According to Aschenbeck, the school has rough cost numbers for each of these projects, but will need to see how much contractor services will cost.  He said once expenses are outlined, the board will figure out how to fund the projects.

After discussion, the board will adjourn into executive session to address personnel matters.

The board will meet Monday at noon, in the central office boardroom at 711 East Mansfield Street.
