BLINN NURSING GRADS POST 100 PERCENT PASS RATE ON NATIONAL LICENSURE EXAM
Blinn’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program had all 35 of its Fall graduates pass their nursing license exam on the first try.
The College announced at its Tuesday board meeting that its Fall 2018 nursing graduates posted a 100 percent pass rate on the national licensure exam.
It marks the second consecutive Fall class, and the seventh in program history, to have a 100 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination. The national average for registered nursing candidates last year was 88.56 percent.
Students who complete Blinn’s ADN Program and pass the licensure exam have a 97 to 100 percent job placement rate. New graduates are qualified for a variety of nursing positions like pediatric, hospice, and clinical nursing, and can expect to earn an average of $53,000 per year.
Health Sciences Dean Tom Lescarbeau said a 100 percent pass rate is an achievement due to the dedication of students, instructors and staff. He said the College is excited to send this group of nurses into local healthcare facilities.
