SECOND BRENHAM MAN CHARGED IN DEADLY DECEMBER ROBBERY IN COLLEGE STATION

  

A second Brenham man has been charged in connection to a deadly armed robbery in College Station in December.

26-year-old Robert Earl McCullough, Jr. was booked into the Brazos County Jail March 16th, charged with Robbery on December 16th at the Valero on Rock Prairie Road and Highway 6.  McCullough is currently being held at $30,000 bond.

Earlier this month, 29-year-old Rufus Lockett, also of Brenham, was indicted on a capital murder charge in the death of 54-year-old store clerk Anita Jean Randle.

Lockett was also indicted for Aggravated Robbery and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a felon, accused of a second convenience store shooting in Bryan.

In that shooting, two weeks before the one in College Station, authorities accuse Lockett of shooting the clerk working at the Apple Stop store on East Villa Maria Road.  The victim was hospitalized with major organ damage, but survived.

Lockett is being held on $750,000 bond.
