BLINN RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM GRADUATES 16

Graduates are eligible to apply for state licensure and begin high-demand careers as radiologic technicians

The Blinn College District Radiologic Technology Program celebrated its 16 newest graduates with a pinning ceremony held Saturday, May 4, at the Blinn College-Bryan Campus Student Center.

The graduating class includes Garrett Arnell (Corsicana), Julio Banuelos (Bryan), Kaylyn Brooks (Somerville), Adrieanna Raye Burkhalter (Caldwell), Rachel Davis (Red Oak), Raejan Duncan (Tyler), Tiffany Groves (Sweeny), Doug Johannsen (Lampasas), Taylor LaCombe (Katy), Elizabeth Martinez (Calvert), Jacob Marucci (Bryan), Caleb Matt (Caldwell), Brittany Reimer (Brenham), Kelly Tietz (League City), Melissa Williams (Bryan), and Cristina Zepeda (Bryan).

Radiologic technologists make up the third-largest group of healthcare professionals in the nation —surpassed in number only by physicians and nurses. A primary responsibility of a radiologic technologist is to create images of patients’ bodies using medical equipment, helping doctors to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, radiologic technologists earn a median salary of $60,070 per year and employment is projected to grow 13% (faster than the national average) between 2016 and 2026.

Blinn’s Radiologic Technology Program prepares students for careers as entry-level radiologic technologists. This nationally accredited program offers extensive knowledge of patient care and safety, anatomy and physiology, image production, equipment operation, radiation protection, and radiographic procedures. Mandated by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the curriculum is designed to transfer graduates seamlessly into institutions of higher learning to continue studies beyond an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to apply for state licensure and will be prepared to complete the credentialing examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Program graduates have a 96% first-attempt pass rate on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification examination and a 100% job placement rate over the past five years.

  1. First I would like to congratulate the Blinn College for the excellent achievement on radiologic technology program.

I also want to make an enquiry, if Blinn College of radiologic technology offer online/offshore program course on BSc Applied Science (Degree Course) on Radiologic-Technology.

By profession I hold East African Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography, obtained from the University of Dar es salaam Tanzania in 1983.
