BIG TURNOUT AT 2019 “PUTT 2 CURE MS”
Despite some pretty soggy conditions, people still turned out in full at Horseshoe Junction in Brenham Tuesday to get their golf game on and support a great cause.
Close to 20 teams and dozens of players packed the putt-putt course for the 12th Annual Putt 2 Cure MS, raising funds to support research efforts to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
While there was plenty of rain leading into the benefit mini-golf tournament, conditions began to clear out just in time for the shotgun start at 6:30 p.m.

Participants had to make their way through the course—and all the water hazards—using tools like sledgehammers, pool noodles, and plastic spatulas. They also had to putt while using hula hoops, handcuffs, and leaf blowers.

The winning team for 2019 was Team Blue Bell Aquatic Center. Justin Jaster was the top adult golfer, while Noble Pharaon was the top youth. In the media challenge, the KWHI team of Craig Montana and Josh Blaschke defeated the KTEX-106 team of Trail Boss Troy and Holly Ryder, bringing the coveted title back to KWHI after a year’s absence.

Fundraising totals are still being calculated, but they have topped $8,000. Event coordinator Michael Brinkmeyer thanks all the sponsors and volunteers who gave their time and effort to support this cause.
