NAVASOTA MAN CHARGED WITH FIVE COUNTS OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY POSSESSION
State investigators arrested a Navasota man last week, after he was found to be in possession of child pornography.
(Grimes Co. Jail)
23-year-old Christopher Davis Diaz was arrested last Wednesday on five counts of Possession of Child Pornography, after authorities with the Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) executed a search warrant at Diaz’s home in Navasota.
When interviewed by CEU investigators, Diaz admitted to downloading and viewing files of child pornography. Investigators also found images of child pornography during a preview of Diaz’s cell phone and components. They also seized numerous digital storage devices to be examined by the Digital Forensics Unit.
The Texas Attorney General’s Office said this case is the result of a CyberTipline report by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, involving the upload of child pornography to an online account.
The Navasota Police Department assisted the Attorney General’s Office with the case. Diaz was transported by Navasota police to the Grimes County Jail without incident. His bond was set at $40,000.
Possession of Child Pornography is a third-degree felony punishable by two to ten years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
