BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD MEETING THURSDAY TO TALK BUDGET, TAX RATE

  

The Brenham School Board is set to hold workshop session tomorrow (Thursday) on the new school year’s budget.

Along with continued budget talks, trustees will set the proposed tax rate for the new year.  They will also set a date and time for a public meeting for comment on the proposed budget and tax rate.

The board at its last meeting approved an employee pay increase that exceeded what was required by state legislature.  The district received $1.1 million in state funding for pay increases, but it allocated an additional $700,000 in local funds for increases.

Also in session, the board will look at band instrument bids and the purchase of instructional materials.  It then plans to adjourn into executive session to discuss personnel matters.

The board will meet tomorrow at noon in the Brenham ISD Administration Office.
