HI-SPEED RAIL MOVES FORWARD

The company developing the high speed railroad through the Brazos Valley says they have cleared another federal hurdle.

Texas Central says the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has granted a rule which will regulate the railroad’s system and operations.

Texas Central says they are also on schedule to have the FRA approve a safety rule and its environmental permit next year. That will be followed by a financial close and the start of construction.

Texans Against High Speed Rail’s chairman posted on the organization’s Facebook page that it’s the first time this has happened in the 52 year history of the federal agency….and it should be of great concern to Texas citizens and all U.S. taxpayers.

Kyle Workman added Texas Central now has to go through a lengthy rule making process.

Workman warns that the FRA could give a monopoly to Texas Central’s Japanese technology, something he says the entire rail industry will oppose.

  1. The rail will also be taking land via imminent domain from families that have owed that land for many generations. No one seems to be talking about that anymore. These families want the land to remain in their families for generations to come. What about them?

  2. Sadly we have neglected passenger rail for so long that we have come to realize we are years behind most of the world..

  3. It makes perfect sense to use proven technology rather than reinventing the wheel. The Japanese know how to build high speed rail and make it work. We shouldn’t hesitate to use it.

  4. The whole world has railways more advanced then USA. Why? If these folks speak of climate change, then what’s wrong with reducing cars driven by just 1 person? Hypocrites. Build Rail USA across the country and increase public transport. Tired of not having rail transport

    1. If you wanted it built American, then why did you wait until now when someone is actually doing something about it, then complain. This could have been American built if you didn’t sideline the tech years ago when it came out. Instead you squashed it in favour of the Airline and Auto industry leaving us behind in modern transportation tech. Should we wait another 20 years for you to create an American built high speed train? Would have been nice but intelligence didn’t prevail, just protectionism for other dated transportation.

    2. It seems all of you don’t have any knowledge of high speed rail in the US. Look up how it has brought California to bankruptcy after building several rail systems only a few homeless use them and don’t pay . Its a system that doesn’t work in this country, we love our cars and independence. Look it up.
