2020 BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL CANCELLED IN CHAPPELL HILL

This year’s Bluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill has been cancelled.   The Chappell Hill Historical Society announced this (Thursday) morning that the event scheduled for April 18 and 19 has been cancelled over concerns for the coronavirus.  In a press release the Historical Society stated they cancelled the event after a Disaster Declaration was passed by the County Commissioners.  They said the event attracts 20,000-30,000 people annually, and the decision to cancel it is in the best interest of the vendors, visitors, and volunteers.

2020 Official State of Texas Bluebonnet Festival Cancelled

It is with heavy heart that we announce that the “Official State of Texas Bluebonnet Bonnet Festival” will not take place this April 18 & 19.  Washington County Officials have met and adopted Disaster Declarations and emergency procedures have been implemented much like the rest of the Nation.  As a result we will be cancelling this year’s festival.  As you know 20,000-30,000 people attend the Bluebonnet Festival and given the severity of this public health crisis it is in the best interest of our vendors, visitors, volunteers and most importantly the need to keep our community safe that we make this decision.

The Chappell Hill Historical Society would like to thank our volunteers, the community of Chappell Hill and most importantly our sponsors for their continued support of the festivals and the community.  We will be working with our vendors to ensure their return for the October 10 & 11 Scarecrow Festival and look forward a successful fall festival.
