2020 “HOT NIGHTS, COOL TUNES” BANDS ANNOUNCED

  

While Main Street Brenham’s “Cool Nights, Hot Tunes” concert originally scheduled for this Saturday night has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis…The City of Brenham is happy to announce the band lineup for this summer’s popular “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” concert series.

This year “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” will be held on the last three Saturday nights of July, and the first Saturday night of August, due to July 4th falling on a Saturday.  Three bands new to the concert series will be performing, along with one popular returning band.

Austin Party Band

On Saturday night, July 11th the 8-piece Austin Party Band will take the stage on the courthouse square in Brenham sponsored by Citizens State Bank, Woodson Lumber Company, South Texas Tack and Baylor Scott & White.  Austin Party Band plays a blend of songs from Motown to Modern featuring trumpets, saxophones, guitars, keyboards and drums.

Texas Unlimited Band

On July 18th Texas Unlimited Band makes a return engagement sponsored by Brenham National Bank, Seidel Schroeder, Dahmann and Associates, and Budweiser – Mike Hopkins Distributing.  TUB plays everything from country to 80’s hits, and always gets the crowd up and dancing.

Escape

On July 25th the Journey tribute band Escape will perform sponsored by Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, Brannon Industrial Group, Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative and Tippit Dental Group.  For 20 years Escape thrilling fans with Journey songs from “Separate Ways” to “Open Arms”.

And closing out the concert series on Saturday night, August 1st, The Damn Torpedoes will recreate the look and sound of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, sponsored by Associated Credit Union of Texas, Strand Associates, Ant Street Inn, and Independence Coffee Company.

The Damn Torpedoes

The 16th season of “Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” will begin at 7 o’clock each Saturday night on the courthouse square in downtown Brenham.  The concerts are free, and families are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy food and drinks from local businesses and vendors.  The Stray Katz Car Club will also host a cruise-in of classic cars and hot rods on Alamo Street prior to and during the concerts.
