NO NEW CASES OF COVID-19 IN WASHINGTON CO. MONDAY; ONE DEATH, TWO RECOVERIES REPORTED

The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Washington County continues to hold steady.

Monday, no new cases of COVID-19 were reported, leaving the county’s total at 150 positive cases.  The last new cases in the county were confirmed on Thursday.

However, one new death attributed to COVID-19 was reported Monday, bringing the number of COVID-19 patient deaths in the county up to 21.  The death, according to officials with the Washington County Joint Information Center (JIC), was linked to the Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (BNRC), which now accounts for 19 of the 21 COVID-19 related deaths in the county.

Currently, 101 of the county’s 150 positive cases are active, with five patients hospitalized.  Eighty of the active cases are from the BNRC, while one of the five hospitalizations is from the facility.  Of the 150 positive cases, 102 are linked to the facility, with 80 residents and 22 employees testing positive.

Two new recoveries were reported Monday, bringing the county’s total up to 28.  One of the previously reported recoveries from the BNRC was discovered to not be related to the facility, so it has had three COVID-19 patients recover instead of four.

JIC officials say an estimated 881 COVID-19 tests have been performed on county residents within the county, with 127 tests performed at the BNRC.
