DEADLINE THURSDAY FOR NAVASOTA BUSINESSES TO APPLY FOR COVID-19 AID THROUGH NAVASOTA EDC

  

Today (Thursday) is the last day for small businesses in Navasota to apply for COVID-19 assistance through the Navasota Economic Development Corporation (NEDC).

$100,000 of short-term, immediate financial aid is available to Navasota businesses through the NEDC’s Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant.  Applications close today at 5 p.m.

Selected businesses may receive up to $1,000 in funding, while selected sole proprietors and independent contractors can receive up to $500 in funding.  Non-profits are not eligible.

Businesses must show that COVID-19 has affected their services and revenue, and must also be located within Navasota city limits, not be home-based, employ no more than 24 employees, and be planning to reopen.  Priority is based on need and a first-come, first-serve basis.

Businesses can apply by going online to www.shoplocalnavasota.com/resources/navasota-grant.  An appointed committee will review applications, and businesses will receive notification of their application status within seven or eight days of receipt.
