CHAPPELL HILL VFD CANCELS BARBECUE COOKOFF; GUN DRAWING STILL ON
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department has cancelled its upcoming barbecue cook-off.
The event was set for July 24th and 25th, and serves as a major fundraiser for the department. Letters are being sent out to all teams that entered with an explanation on how to take care of their sponsorships.
The department is still planning to hold its annual gun drawing, which will feature prizes including pistols, shotguns, and rifles; Mastercard gift cards; and a $2,000 travel voucher through Brazos Valley Travel. The winners of the drawings will be announced via Facebook.

I love how everything around us is getting cancelled or postponed but school is still a go! Smh. Makes zero sense how u can say well none of these events are safe but putting hundreds of people in a closed building together all day is safe. Meanwhile all of the people making the decisions about school going back are all working remotely until January.
