2020 FEAST OF CARING CANCELLED

The 27th annual Brazos Valley Food Bank’s Feast of Caring has been cancelled.

The annual event had been slated for Wednesday, August 5th at the Brazos Center in Bryan.

The beans and rice luncheon is served by celebrity waiters with donations collected for the Food Bank.

Organizers say, “With the COVID pandemic still spreading, an event like Feast of Caring – 500 people at one time (1,500 throughout the event), inside, sitting shoulder to shoulder in rows and rows of tables, eating, talking, laughing and hugging is just not safe right now. Nor is having Celebrity Servers, our community leaders, elbow to elbow serving food to hundreds of people.”

They go on to say, “This decision was not made lightly by the staff and Board of Directors. But, the safety of members of this community is the number one priority at this time.”

The 28th Feast of Caring has been scheduled for August 4th of next year at the Brazos Center.

For those who wish to donate to BVFB even though Feast of Caring will be cancelled, donations can be made via credit card online at www.bvfb.org/FOC2020 or by check, mailed to: BVFB, PO Box 74, Bryan, Texas 77806 (please write Feast of Caring (FOC) on your check).
