ORDERS NOW BEING TAKEN FOR WASHINGTON CO. FALL GARDEN PLANT SALE

The Washington County Horticulture Committee is now taking orders for its fall garden plant sale.

For the third year, the committee is offering a selection of cool season plants including: arugula, bok choy, cauliflower, kale, green and red leaf lettuce, mustard greens, swiss chard, and more.

Plants are $2.50 for a pack of four, with proceeds benefitting the youth of Washington County through scholarship.  Each year, the committee works to identify qualified graduating seniors pursuing a degree in agriculture and awards a scholarship of $1,000 or more in May at the respective school assemblies.

Order forms are available online at http://washington.agrilife.org, or at the Washington County Extension Office at 1305 East Blue Bell Road in Brenham.  All orders must be paid for when they are placed, and no orders will be accepted without payment.

Orders are due by Friday, October 2nd.  Plant pick-up will be on Tuesday, October 13th from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds Sales Facility.  All plants must be picked up at that time.
